Z's 2008 NFL Week 4 REVIEW!
10/03/2008
Zsports Image
Where does it end??
  • Tennessee and Buffalo are 4-0 and the defending champs (NY Giants), are 3-0, and that is it, no one else is undefeated, and after this weekend a few more teams will have a loss.
  • Rams, Bungles, and Lions 0-4, and Houston is 0-3, and those are the only winless teams in the NFL. Will any of them be off this list next week?
  • Al Davis is a real Pirate (Raider) fired Lane Kiffin “with reason", Tom Cable?-named interim Head Coach.
  • Rams fire Scott Linehan, name defensive coordinator Jim Haslett new Head coach.
  • Brett Favre -are you serious- 6 touchdown passes against a bewildered Arizona defense.
  • Da Bears goal line stand holds down the mighty Eagles.
  • With comebacks and upsets everywhere so far, expect more of the same, and another great week of football!!!!

AFC East
Patriots- After their bye week 2-1 Pats travel to San Francisco. Look for New England to be Strong, but don't bet the Cassel on it!
Bretts- Oohhh yeah that’s why you bring in the future Hall of Famer. The gunslinger threw 6 touchdowns against an Arizona defense that had the best seat in the house. 2-2 Jets get their bye this week before the Bungles come to town, then going to Oakland. Jets fans on cloud 9!
Bills- 4-0 in Buffalo, defense strong, special teams are special, and offense has been stunningly consistent. This week travel to Arizona and something tells me the Cards' won't score 35 in this game. With a bye next week, its all good in Buffalo in week 5.
Dolphins- 1-2 and coming off a bye week the Dolphins welcome the hard charging Chargers to Miami. This game might just sum up the year for Bill Parcells-Dolphin General Manager.

AFC North
Steelers- 3-1 After an overtime win over Baltimore on Monday night, they travel to Jacksonville, where a war will be staged for Sunday night. With 2 losses in Pittsburgh at the hands of the Jags last year. IT's on!
Browns- 1-3 They get a bye this week, and they need it. The defense can't stop anybody and the offense can't get past anybody.
Ravens- 2-1 Lost to Pittsburgh in overtime on Monday night, in what many consider a moral victory. Welcome to town the undefeated Tennessee Titans, who are a virtual mirror image of the Ravens. Could be a great game.
Bungles- 0-4 and it gets worse, now. Travel to Dallas this week! Ouch!

AFC South
Colts- 1-2 Indy tries to get back on track against a team that they have beaten 11 out of 12 times. Despite the dominant win/loss record this is always a tight game, and the 0-3 Texans will challenge the once mighty Colts.
Jaguars- 2-2 Jags welcome the Steelers to town with a battle in mind, and they will get one. This will be a great game.
Titans- 4-0 Nobody could have guessed this, but with a fight lined up for Baltimore this week, the Titans could be undefeated at their bye next week. But don’t count out the 2-1 Ravens, their defense is back!
Texans- 0-3 and can either turn it all around or go down in flames, this weekend. With no signs of life from the offense, optimism is null.

AFC West
Chargers- 2-2, with 25 points in the fourth quarter, to come back against the Raiders, things look to be rolling right at the right time. The Chargers should be able to take advantage of their trip to Miami this weekend.
Broncos- 3-1, Ooops!?! Lost in Kansas City!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Better figure out what happened before 3-1 Tampa Bay gets to town.
Raiders- 1-3 now going through a nasty firing of Lane Kiffin, and replacing him with Tom Cable. Good thing there is a bye this week, but good luck after that.
Chiefs- 1-3 Surprise victory over Denver, gives a faint light on a dark season.
Low Voltage?

NFC East
Cowboys- 3-1 Dang, and against the Skins, is there trouble in paradise? Was that just a little hiccup or a Danger Ahead sign? Surely there will be no danger when the 0-4 Bungles come to town this week right?
Giants- 3-0 Well rested after their bye week, should be able to dismantle the -hands team- coming to town from Seattle, who is still under duress with no wide receivers even after their bye week.
Eagles- 2-2 They did not let the game against Chicago slip away, the Bears took it. Should do the division proud with a match up against the 3-1 Redskins who look to make a name for themselves this weekend.
Redskins- 3-1 Three wins in a row, the last one over rival super stars in Dallas! There is no weak sister in the NFC East, the Skins' get another tough test this weekend in Philly.

NFC North
Vikings- 1-3 Travel to New Orleans to take on 2-2 Saints this could be a great early game. Or the Vikes could lay another...
Packers- 2-2 Threw the game away last week, and if Aaron Rodgers is hurt, this weeks visit from the reeling Falcons may not go as well as hoped.
Bears- 2-2 Da Bears! That was a great goal line stand with 3 minutes to go against a good team. What a stop. With a trip to Detroit this weekend they could be clicking at the right time, right now.
Lions- 0-4 Fired team President, Matt Millen, and it’s gonna be a long year.

NFC South
Panthers- 3-1 Jake Delhomme was named the NFC player of the week. He led an overall good team effort (20 for 29 - 294yds – 2TDs.) The run defense is playing great but another superb running back will test them. Way too many flags against team, must fix that problem before facing tougher tests down the road. Carolina should roll over 1-3 Kansas City.
Falcons- 2-2 After loss against the Panthers, the Falcons travel to Wisconsin where the plan is simple, if Rodgers does not play, Atlanta should win.
Buccaneers- 3-1 Survived Griese's 3 interceptions, for a victory. Look for Griese to be much improved against another one of his old teams, but look for Denver to be improved after their embarrassing loss at the hands of the Chiefs.
Saints- 2-2 Minnesota comes to town in what should be a great game with a lot on the line for both teams. This early in the season both teams need a big win.

NFC West
Seahawks- 1-2 There is no relief in sight for the hand-cuffed Seahawks, as they travel to New York to play the defending champs.
49ers- 2-2 Take on 2-1 Patriots team who will be ready after their bye week.
Cardinals- Some 40 year old red-neck from New York threw for 6 touchdowns over their defense, and now 11 big angry New Yorkers want to jump on Grandpa Warner.
Rams- 0-3 Fired Scott Linehan, promoted Jim Haslett, and it will still be a long season.
